Act II Elevation
⌵
"Act II Elevation" is an intervention in which I appropriate the movement of the elevator. I sit at the pluggable steel table, wait and rise each time a visitor raises the vehicle by pressing a button. By raising myself up, my face becomes visible and I look at myself in the mirror. The point of reference for the intervention is the principle of the soliloquy and the question of the impulse of artistic processes and actions.
The "contracts" entered into with other artists in Act I "Welcome to my Office" are attached to the elevator walls with magnets and are doubled in the mirror. They refer to the discursive space and polyphony of every artistic practice, but also question the exploitation of collaborative creative work and authorship.
